Ty Mawr in Cardiff has reopened with a brand new look following a complete refurbishment to emphasise its ‘warm, timeless country pub atmosphere’.
The transformation has seen a brand new Farrow & Ball colour palette introduced into the venue, alongside wall panelling and bespoke tiling. A new homely ‘snug’ section was added to the bar featuring cosy Chesterfield seating. Additionally, the al fresco dining area has been updated. The pub received an investment spend of £317,000 into its refurbishment.
Situated on the outskirts of Cardiff, with views of the Severn Estuary, Ty Mawr (meaning ‘big house’) is a pub-restaurant with a ‘convivial village pub atmosphere’ and a contemporary restaurant menu, including British pub classics alongside items with a modern twist, such as home-made chicken and chorizo kebab with oven-baked garlic flatbread, crumbled feta cheese and pomegranate seed salad and seasoned fries, antipasti boards, and soy glazed salmon.
The pub serves a variety of cocktails, a premium lager range and a large selection of G&Ts.
Ty Mawr’s outdoor seating area allows guests to drink or dine alfresco, whilst the spacious and modern interior offers a relaxed dining experience. The new look is set to elevate the pub’s interior to suit all occasions, from ‘casual lunches to special celebrations’.
Ty Mawr is also home to a barn function suite, ideal for weddings, family gatherings or birthday celebration. The venue offers a comprehensive wedding package and its event coordinators can tailor guests’ celebrations to requirements.
Ty Mawr will also be hosting guests across the festive period, with a special Festive Menu on offer. The Festive Set Menu offers either 2 courses for £23 or 3 courses for £26, with dishes including Chicken Liver & Brandy Pâté, Oak Smoked Salmon, Roast Turkey (with all the trimmings), Parsnip & Chestnut Tart, Christmas Pudding and Pear & Apple Crumble.
With over 1,600 pubs across England, Scotland and Wales, Marston’s sites range from traditional local pubs to family-friendly pub restaurants.
