A Gorseinon opticians has expanded its offering to local customers as part of a £500,000 investment.
Specsavers Gorseinon has relocated to the former HSBC bank located at 1 Alexander Road, just across from its previous site. The move to the new location is part of an expansion to match growing business demand.
The new store has one extra test room – going from three to four – with a fifth room to soon follow, and features a dual room, where audiology services are also available.
Sally Anne Colquhoun, director of the Gorseinon store, says: ‘Our customer demand is ever-growing, so the chance to expand into a bigger space was a welcomed opportunity. We believe everyone should have access to eye care from community optometrists and want to ensure that we are providing a thorough and vital service to our community.’
In the lead-up to the move, Specsavers Gorseinon run a raffle in aid of Morgans Army, a charity that provides support for children diagnosed with cancer through avenues such as project funding, peer support, support with grants and equipment, and bereavement, with £430 being raised.
To mark the opening of the new store, local Labour MP Tonia Antonizzi made an appearance to cut the ribbon and celebrated the opening of the store.
Tonia Antonizzi MP says: ‘It’s an absolute joy to see Specsavers move into this wonderful building in the heart of Gorseinon. I wish them the best of luck in their new extended business and I have no doubt I’ll be back soon!’
