Greggs has opened a new branch at Coedcae Lane Industrial Estate in Pontyclun.

It has acquired an 1,840 sq ft unit, overlooking the main estate road, on a new 10-year lease.

Joint agents, Cushman & Wakefield and Jenkins Best acted on behalf of the landlord at the estate, South Street Capital, to agree the deal whilst Greggs were represented by Cooke & Arkwright.

Coedcae Lane Industrial Estate is located three miles north of junction 34 of the M4 motorway and, following a proactive estate-wide refurbishment programme over the past few years, it has firmly established itself as the prime trade and industrial estate in the Pontyclun and Llantrisant geography.

Henry Best, Director at Jenkins Best commented: “The letting to Greggs will bring further footfall and activity to the estate and also highlights the continuing attractiveness of Coedcae Lane Industrial Estate’s position as the premier trade, industrial and distribution estate in the area. They join an impressive list of household names already located on the estate, including Travis Perkins, Screwfix, Toolstation and Howdens.”

Chris Yates, Partner in Cushman & Wakefield’s Logistics & Industrial team added: “We are pleased to have attracted another well-known occupier to this popular estate. The estate is now nearly at full occupancy with just one remaining unit left. Unit C1 has recently been fully refurbished and we anticipate there will be strong demand for the same given its prominent position within the estate, sat amongst an impressive tenant mix.”

Huw Thomas of Cooke & Arkwright said: “Despite the significant challenges created by the COVID-19 pandemic, Greggs continue to be keen to acquire new units across all parts of Wales – this most recent acquisition at Coed Cae Lane Industrial Estate, Pontyclun is a good example of the type of opportunity which Greggs will consider to broaden their market, alongside retail parks, drive thru’ sites, business parks, busy roadside locations, transport hubs, as well as the traditional high street and shopping centre locations.”
