A 34-year-old man has been jailed for persistent domestic abuse against his partner.
Jamie Warner, of Market Street, Holyhead, repeatedly subjected his partner to controlling and coercive behaviour between January 2021 and August 2023, causing her to fear she would come to considerable harm.
Throughout their relationship, he continually messaged his partner asking where she was and making her feel guilty when she visited family. He verbally abused and threatened her, and each time she tried to end the relationship, she received a bombardment of texts and messages accusing her of being with other men.
He appeared at Caernarfon Crown Court on Tuesday, April 30th, where he pleaded guilty to controlling and coercive behaviour.
He was jailed for 2 years and 8 months as well as being handed a 10-year restraining order preventing him from contacting the victim and from entering the village of Talwrn, Anglesey.
Inspector Richard Griffith said: “Domestic abuse can take many forms and can have a profound and lasting effect on an individual.
“It isn’t easy to report incidents of this nature and I commend the bravery of the victim for speaking out.
“We continue to act on any report of controlling and coercive behaviour and will not stop in our efforts to bring perpetrators of domestic abuse to justice.”
