New home flooring specialist Intu Interiors is expanding into Wales for the first time, and has leased a warehouse and offices in Bridgend.

The company supplies and fits flooring for new build homes and works with some of the UK’s largest builders. It has leased the 2,583 sq ft Unit 2400 industrial unit on Central Park in Western Avenue, Bridgend Industrial Estate, on a five year lease.

Landlord Robert Hitchins Limited was advised in the transaction by property consultancy Knight Frank.  John Jones, asset and development manager for Robert Hitchins commented: “Intu Interiors are an excellent new addition to our tenant line up at Central Park and we wish them every success with their expansion in the region.”

David Brazier, flooring director of Intu Interiors, said: “Intu Interiors have been installing flooring and show homes since 2001. Our head office is based in Kidderminster, but we also operate from distribution centres around the country.

“We fit the carpets, vinyl and vinyl tiles that customers choose at the newly-finished homes they purchase from major homebuilders.  We have secured Persimmon Homes in Wales as a customer and plan to expand into other builders in due course.

“We chose Bridgend for its excellent location, with fast access to Cardiff and West Wales, plus the ability to serve mid-Wales and the Hereford region as well.  We looked at a dozen different buildings but the Central Park unit gives us everything we need, including a great yard, and great space for expansion.”

Intu plans to have created 10 new jobs in Bridgend by the end of its first year of operation.

Tom Griffiths, from Knight Frank’s Industrial & Logistics team in Cardiff, said: “Central Park is situated within the heart of Bridgend Industrial Estate, close to Bridgend town centre and yet within easy reach of the motorway.

“The quality of the modern industrial units at Central Park makes it a popular location for occupiers requiring excellent road links to the M4 motorway. Other occupiers on Central Park include PCI Pharma Services, Edmundson Electrical, Pensord Press and Plumbase.”
