With two weeks until Quest Wales, the unique adventure racing event comprising kayaking, cycling and running, there’s still time to sign up and discover your inner sense of exploration!
[aoa id=”1″]Hosted on June 8, 2019 in the picturesque Snowdonia National Park, Quest Wales goes beyond a traditional event as you sign up to be part of a community that has been hooked in for life by a unique challenge and atmosphere. Suitable for all fitness levels and abilities, participants have the option of three scenic routes; 25km Challenge, 42km Sport or 53km Expert. If you can run a 10km, then you can do the 25km![/aoa]
You don’t have to worry about equipment either, kayaks are provided as part of your entry fee and if you don’t have a bike, these are available to hire at an additional cost. If you’ve ever run a 10k, the 25k Challenge route is more than achievable and gives you the opportunity to take in breath-taking scenery and enjoy an unforgettable experience.
There’s also a fourth discipline which takes no training … the after-party! After you’ve received your medal and taken some memorable finish line photos, you can relive the race and jump in a hot tub to enjoy some well-earned drinks and hot food with friends and likeminded competitors.
Starting and finishing in the idyllic village of Betws-y-Coed, the event, which is now in its third year, is estimated to have a local economic impact of over £400,000 to the local area with an influx of bed & breakfast, restaurant and pub bookings from participants.
Oliver Kirwan, Race Director at Quest Adventure Series, said: “If you’re looking to challenge yourself in 2019 and do things you never thought you could, Quest Wales is the event for you. You don’t need to be a hardened athlete, just bring your sense of adventure and we’ll provide the atmosphere and an unforgettable experience. A lot of our participants sign-up as a group and adventure races are a great excuse to plan a weekend away with friends and like-minded people to work hard and then, play hard too.”
If you have a relative level of fitness, then you are in a great position to do this event!
Quest Wales is part of the Quest Adventure Series which encompasses several one-day adventure races. Already well-established, events across Ireland in Killarney, Kenmare, Glendalough and Achill attracted over 8,000 participants in 2018.
