Applications for Playmakers has re-opened for schools to apply to be providers in the 24/25 academic year. Playmakers is an exciting and innovative programme which aims to inspire 5–8-year-old girls to engage with football and physical activity in a fun and creative way.

Playmakers uses the power of Disney stories to bring sessions to life and enhance pupils’ decision-making, physical literacy and confidence. The programme is designed specifically for female pupils to narrow the gap in gender participation in football.

    What does the training involve?

Activity filled online and in-person regional training workshops will be delivered to providers. It is important that teachers have the ability to engage with, encourage and have fun with the pupils, we will teach you the football elements!

Each successful applicant will need to attend 1x online workshop and 1x regional in-person workshop. Dates and venues will be released to book your desired workshop before the end of the school year. All training will take place in September and October 2024.

Once training is complete your school will also receive a FREE branded UEFA Disney Playmakers equipment pack and coaches guide to ensure you have all you need to deliver the programme at your school.

    How to apply

There are currently over 100 primary schools across Wales who have completed the training!

To celebrate, we are increasing this year’s intake to 60 primary schools! If you would like to apply for your school to become a provider, please fill out the application form using the link below.

Applications will close on Wednesday 10th July 2024 at 5pm. Apply here.
