Llangoed Hall appoints Sam Bowser as new head chef

The award-winning Llangoed Hall, located in the beautiful Brecon Beacons, has appointed Sam Bowser as its new head chef, following a successful career at Dormy House.

Sam Bowser replaces Nick Brodie – who had been at Llangoed for six years – and is excited to take the next step in a hugely successful career.

Having been in the industry for 18 years, Sam’s impressive portfolio has seen him cook in some of the finest kitchens in the UK including Whatley Manor, The Square and Le Manoir aux Quat Saisons.

He has spent the last two-and-a-half years as head chef at Dormy House, where he most recently launched MO, a new concept restaurant. Sam has a passion for working with real artisan suppliers and championing British produce, creating flavour-driven modern British food.

Sam said: “I’m really looking forward to starting my new role at Llangoed Hall. I can’t wait to get stuck in and put my own stamp on the offering. The opportunity to work at this award-winning restaurant in a stunning location is one I couldn’t pass up to showcase modern British food that I’m passionate about.

“I have been very lucky in my career, working in some of the finest kitchens in the UK and this next step is one I am really excited about.”

Sergio Martinez, general manager of Llangoed Hall Hotel, said “We’re so excited to be welcoming Sam to the team this month. We know that he will work hard to create something truly unique that will really put us on the map and encourage diners from near and far. Sam has already been working on the new menu and I’m looking forward for everyone to see what he does with our offering.”

The new menu will be available from January 18, 2020.

Llangoed Hall is a member of MWT Cymru, an independent organisation representing more than 600 tourism and hospitality businesses across Mid Wales.
