Magical School of Spells coming to Mermaid Quay this Half Term

This October half term, Mermaid Quay is inviting families to step into a world of magic with its enchanting School of Spells event. Running from Thursday 31st October to Saturday 2nd November, children are set to enjoy a spellbinding experience where they will learn the ancient art of wand-making with the enchanting Wanda Wishwaft.

Wanda Wishwaft, who hails from a long line of 987 “Wishwafters,” will guide children through the magical process of creating their very own unique wands. Using sustainable craft materials, each child will carefully thread, bind, and decorate their wand to ensure it has the perfect magical potency. With Wanda’s expert help, young witches and wizards will leave not only with a one-of-a-kind wand but the knowledge of how to use it—so no pesky transformations of siblings into frogs!

The School of Spells will run multiple sessions daily, and while there’s no need to pre-book, each session has limited spaces to ensure a truly magical experience for every child. The sessions will be led by a cast of wizards, each with their own bag of tricks to share with eager students.

Mark Nott, Centre Manager at Mermaid Quay, said:
“We’re excited to bring something truly magical to Mermaid Quay this half term. The School of Spells is a fun and engaging way for children to get creative and immerse themselves in a world of imagination. Wanda Wishwaft and her team are sure to put smiles on faces and create memories that last long after the wands have been waved.”

Don’t miss out on this enchanting event. Grab your cloaks and broomsticks and head to Mermaid Quay for a magical experience your children won’t forget!
