Monmouthshire Housing Association (MHA) recently held its 9th Annual Making a Difference Awards at the St. Pierre Marriot Hotel in Chepstow.
The awards were an excellent opportunity to showcase the amazing voluntary work undertaken by MHA tenants throughout our Monmouthshire communities.
The event was also a chance for tenants to be recognised for their personal achievements, with several overcoming major challenges in their lives.
Many of the stories that were shared at the awards were truly inspirational and showcased real determination and dedication, with some stories even bringing a tear to many guests’ eyes.
The awards were a huge success this year with a record number of nominations and over 140 people in attendance.
Sylvia Meredith was one of the many tenants that left the awards feeling inspired, “I feel very happy, full of self-pride and confidence after the awards. All the staff and contestants were inspiring and thought provoking”.
MHA Director of Housing and Communities, Michelle Morgan, who hosted the evening, added, “It was a privilege to host such a wonderful event. The Making a Difference Awards are the perfect way to reward our tenants for helping make our communities a place where people aspire to live and work.
“We are already looking forward to celebrating our 10 year anniversary of the Making a Difference awards next year!”
MHA’s Making a Difference Awards once again demonstrated that Monmouthshire has integrated communities that are thriving and striving to make their neighbourhoods great places to live.
