M&S stores in Cardiff will host a Macmillan’s World’s Biggest Coffee Mornings alongside colleagues across the country to bring communities together and raise crucial funds to help people with cancer live life as fully as they can.
Last year, stores in South Wales raised over £66,000 to fund Macmillan professional roles in local hospitals and within the local community, such as nurses, occupational therapists and dieticians. Local M&S stores will join forces again this year, along with M&S Cafés, nationwide to host Macmillan Coffee Mornings on Friday 28th September.

A partner since 2010, M&S customers and colleagues have helped raise over £13 million for the charity to support people living with cancer, including £3.5m in the last year alone. The money raised funded 65 Macmillan professionals in the last year, bringing essential medical, practical and emotional support to people living with cancer and their families.
M&S local stores are inviting customers to join them for an extra special cup of coffee and slice of cake throughout September, in aid of the charity’s fundraising efforts. M&S will also be launching a special Coffee Morning themed ‘Colin the Caterpillar’ cake in aid of the Macmillan’s Coffee Morning. Millions of people will come together to host or attend a Macmillan Coffee Morning this year, and, with the number of people living with cancer constantly growing, their support has never been more important.
John Turner, Head of Region for Wales & West, said:
“Cancer has such a devastating impact on so many people in Wales so it’s fantastic to see communities come together year after year in such a positive way to raise vital funds.
“Whether you are attending World’s Biggest Coffee Morning events in our M&S Cafés or hosting your own and attempting to bake the iconic Victoria Sponge using our at home kits, there’s no better way to raise money for such a worthy cause than catching up with friends and family over a slice of cake.”
From 1 September, M&S customers will be able to enjoy a host of tasty foodie treats on sale in M&S Foodhalls, with 10 percent of each sale going to Macmillan. As well as the limited edition Macmillan ‘Colin the Caterpillar’, mini Colin cakes and Macmillan themed doughnuts, products including the much-loved Victoria Sponge, Chocolate Fudge, Coffee and Walnut and Lemon Drizzle cakes, the Teatime cupcake selection, and a bespoke coffee and tea blend selection will be on offer to help people enjoy their own coffee morning events. M&S Cafés will once again be supporting by donating 5p from every coffee, tea, herbal tea and cake they sell throughout September, to Macmillan. Limited edition Macmillan mugs will also be available in stores and online, with 10 per cent of each sale going to Macmillan.
Natasha Parker, Head of Corporate Partnerships at Macmillan Cancer Support, added:
“One of the most wonderful things about Macmillan’s Coffee Morning is its ability to bring so many people together in support of people living with cancer. Quite literally millions of people across the country take part every year, and with the fantastic support of M&S staff and customers I have every faith that this year will be our best yet!”
