Swansea Krazy Races, the free to attend soapbox derby, coming to the City centre on Sunday 18th June, is less than 100 days away!
The popular event, been brought to the City by Headline Sponsor, Swansea Business Improvement District (BID), promises to bring all manner of wild and zany races to Swansea while raising thousands for local charities, including headline local charity Wales Air Ambulance.
In addition to celebrating the 100 days countdown, event organisers are excited to announce that the event will now move to the centre of the city with racing going past Swansea Castle with spectators gathering in and around Castle Square. The event has been moved to a much more prominent space in the centre from its original planned location over Copr Bridge due to an incredible response from people across Swansea with up to 15,000 people now expected to attend the event on Sunday 18th June. This change in location past the iconic Swansea Castle is set to make the Swansea event extra-special!
Swansea BID Operations Manager, Andrew Douglas said:
“We are really excited to be bringing Krazy Races to the city and have been blown away by the response so far. The change of route brings the event closer to the heart of the city centre and we’d like to thank the council officers that have worked with Krazy Races to make this possible. The day promises to an action-packed family-friendly day and we, the BID team, cannot wait!”
Sarah Belcher, Founder and Director of Krazy Races added:
“We have been blown away by the incredible enthusiasm the people of Swansea and the surrounding areas have shown this event, our social media has gone KRAZY and we are over the moon to have already recruited over 20, fantastic Krazy teams.
“The fact that we are now moving to an iconic area of the City is an incredible achievement and we would like to publicly thank everyone who has made this possible. We would also like to thank our amazing headline charity, Wales Air Ambulance who have been a pleasure to work with.
“We only have a few team spaces left, so we encourage teams to enter as soon as possible to avoid disappointment. We would also like to encourage the amazing people of Swansea to come out in force on Sunday 18th June to cheer on your favourites!”
