Lidl GB has confirmed that its new supermarket on Gorseinon Road in Penllergaer, Swansea will open for the first time on Thursday 24th November. The new store, which has been designed to provide an enhanced shopping experience for the supermarket’s growing customer base, will replace Lidl’s existing store currently on the same road, which will close permanently at 10pm on Wednesday 23rd November.
The store opening times will be between 8am – 10pm Monday to Saturday, and 10am – 4pm on Sunday, delivering Lidl’s offering of fresh, quality and great value produce.
On opening day customers will be able to find exclusive deals and offers on selected products including a Sanitas Mani/Pedicure set (£6.99), a 3D pen kit (£12.99) as well as a bread machine (£24.99).

Lidl’s ongoing success shows no signs of slowing, with Lidl now the 6th largest supermarket in the UK.The discounter, which reached a market share high of 7.2%, was recently named cheapest supermarket in The Grocer’s ‘Super Grocer 33’ for the third time in a row – beating six major retailers, including Aldi. The index, which compares the price of 33 everyday grocery items across the UK’s seven major supermarkets, found Lidl to be £15.44 cheaper than Morrisons, and a whopping £27.88 cheaper than the most expensive retailer.
