Newport residents will be able to find out about a range of support and advice at a cost-of-living event being held by the council next month.
Members of the public can pop along to The Riverfront Theatre and Arts Centre between 10am and 6pm on Thursday 3 November.
Councillor Jane Mudd, leader of Newport City Council, said: “We know many people are being adversely impacted by the cost-of-living crisis and that could get worse over the winter months.
“There is a lot of support available to help people cope with the pressures and challenges they are facing but some might be finding it difficult to access the right information.
“That is why I thought it was important for residents to be able to go to one place to get advice, ask questions and find out about support they may not even be aware of.
“I would like to thank Newport Live for hosting our event in a central and accessible location and to all the other organisations who will be joining us.
As well as information on support the council offers, other bodies, including CAB, the Credit Union and Welsh Water Dwr Cymru, will be at the event to advise residents.
Aneurin Bevan University Health Board will also be on hand to offer support to those who want to kick an expensive smoking habit.
There will also be free tea and coffee, the chance to win pantomime tickets, and children’s activities (the event takes place during half term).
Further information about the event and who will be attending will be issued over the coming weeks.
