And it is double delight for UK Leisure Living boss Gareth Jones, who was this week announced as a finalist in the Businessperson of the Year category at the prestigious SME Business Awards.
The North Wales company has grown significantly in the last four years, employing 12 staff in Mochdre and St Asaph.
Managing director Gareth has taken an organic approach, introducing a hot tub sales showroom and maintenance service, composite decking and now the revolutionary groundscrew solutions arm, Stop Digging! North Wales and the North West.

With plans to push turnover over £2million in the next 12 months and increase the workforce to 20 employees, they have enjoyed their “best ever year” of sales and look forward to celebrating the birthday with more good news in the weeks ahead.
“We are honoured to have won many prizes over the years, but to be nominated for an SME Business Award is incredible, I am delighted,” said Gareth.
“We have enjoyed a brilliant four years and it looks set to continue given the amazing start we had to 2019, enjoying great sales and welcoming hundreds of visitors to the UK’s first ever Hot Tub Expo.
“Immediate plans are to keep growing, and we are looking at possible expansion of the premises, but ultimately our vision is to continue supporting the tourism and leisure economy in North Wales and retaining our position as one of the biggest hot tub retailers in the UK.”
UK Leisure Living now has tubs on display in Abergele and Porthmadog at satellite locations and is looking for Stop Digging! installer partners in the north west, Cheshire and Shropshire.
The decking side of the business is also booming, and he plans to take on five staff to meet demand in that area over the next two years.
“Between these three areas of the business it’s a very exciting time,” said Gareth, a qualified civil engineer and youngest ever President of the Federation of Master Builders.
“They all complement each other and give us a very positive outlook for the future because we are not reliant on one sector to supply all of our income.”
Gareth added: “We’ve always been that little bit different and like to challenge ourselves and our suppliers and partners, so we can all improve and grow together; there are always new and better ways of doing things.”
With preparations already underway for the 2020 Hot Tub Expo and customers enjoying a Hawaiian Luau in past days to mark their business birthday, the team at UK Leisure Living is looking to set new records in decking, groundscrew and hot tub sales in the run up to Christmas.
“If we carry on as we have so far this year, especially on the hot tubs side, we are aiming to grow by a further 30% and that’s after nearly doubling turnover last year,” said Gareth.
“We could not do any of this without our loyal customers and supporters, so from all of us I thank you all. We are having our best year ever and are confident we can do even better. We look forward to supporting our hot tub family for many years to come”
