The Second Parc Margam 10k run raising money for the Mayor of Neath Port Talbot’s Charity Fund is to get under way in the beautiful surroundings of Port Talbot’s Margam Country Park on Sunday, March 12th, 2023.

Entrants can choose between 10k and 5k routes and as well as enjoying the run through the historic park. The run starts and finishes at historic Margam Castle, and will showcase the very best of Margam Park.

Runners will pass alongside three of the park’s lakes before meandering through its woodland trails and past the fields which are home to the famous Margam deer herd.

Entrants will also help raise funds and awareness for the two very worthy causes chosen by Neath Port Talbot Mayor, Cllr Robert Wood’s Charity Fund this year.

Councillor Wood has chosen the National Autistic Society Cymru and Neath Port Talbot Stroke Group to be his two charities during his time as Mayor.

For the latest information on the Mayor’s activities and charities, you can follow the Mayor on Facebook .

To be part of this exciting event, you can register online at: http://www.margamcountrypark.co.uk/10K  . Entry to the race costs £20 per person. All runners will receive a bespoke participant medal as well as an accurate run time from their timing chip.

Once again, the Parc Margam 10k in aid of the Mayor’s Charities is sponsored by John Pye Auctions, of the Kenfig Industrial Estate, Margam – Europe’s largest indoor general auction facility.

Jonathan Beasley, South Wales Site Manager at John Pye Auctions, said: “Since opening our South Wales Auction Hub, we’ve been thrilled to be able to support and become part of the local community.

“We’re delighted to continue our support of the Parc Margam 10k. Building on the huge success of last year’s event, we’re looking forward to meeting runners from all over south Wales on March 12th and thank them in advance for helping two amazing charities”.

Cllr Wood added: “The Parc Margam 10k is a great way to exercise and at the same time raise money for worthwhile charities in what are truly breathtaking surroundings and I’d like to thank all those planning to take part in this year’s event.”

The first Parc Margam 10k took place on Sunday, March 13th last year.
