A UK Government funded initiative using data and technology to manage town centres and support business is launching in Pembrokeshire.

Pembrokeshire County Council, working with Owen Davies Consulting and associates, is inviting all those interested in finding out about what a Smart Town is and how they can benefit communities to come along to an online event.

The scheme will be delivered in Fishguard and Goodwick, Haverfordwest, Milford Haven, Pembroke, Pembroke Dock and Tenby.

Funded by the UK Government the project may be of particular interest to independent businesses, business groups, Town Councils and other local organisations.

Other town centres in Wales already involved are benefiting from understanding visitor patterns, reducing waste and streamlining processes, increasing footfall and creating greener and cleaner environments.

There will now be an online event on October 17th, 2pm to 3pm.

The first events will be delivered by Menter Môn who have a track record of assisting Welsh towns over the last three years, through the Smart Towns Cymru programme, funded by Welsh Government. The sessions will provide information about the opportunities and benefits of Smart Towns.
