People reminded to complete Census 2021 survey as soon as possible

Census 2021

As Census Day fast approaches, Finance Minister Rebecca Evans is encouraging people across Wales to complete the survey and help play their part in Wales’ future.

The Census provides the most accurate snapshot of the society we live in and helps inform decisions on how we plan and fund public services both now and in the future.

As well as deciding where money is being spent, such as roads, schools or hospitals, the Census also provides essential information to charities and voluntary organisations to help them identify where support is needed most.

Census 2021 is the first digital-first census and should be completed in English or Welsh on, or as soon as possible after Census Day on Sunday 21 March.

Finance Minister Rebecca Evans said:

“The Census provides us with invaluable good quality information that not only informs our decision making in Wales, but also helps us better understand the lives and wellbeing of our people, supporting our work to become a more equal Wales.

“The 2021 Census will be a digital-first census. This means that people will be encouraged to respond online if they can on their mobile phones, laptops, PCs or tablets and people who would prefer to complete a paper copy will be able to do so.

“We have worked hard to make sure that the 2021 Census is as inclusive as possible for everyone in Wales and I would like to encourage everyone to take part in the survey, have their say and make a difference.”
