Officers in Cardiff are appealing for witnesses following a three-vehicle collision on Newport Road yesterday (Saturday, February 22).
Emergency services were called to the incident involving a grey Renault Megane, a blue Volkswagen Touareg, and a white Volvo 940, at the bottom of Rumney Hill at around 8.50am.
One of the drivers, a 70-year-old man, was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
A second man, a 35-year-old who was arrested at the scene on suspicion of dangerous driving, has been released under investigation.
The road was closed for several hours while casualties were treated and vehicles were recovered, and motorists are thanked for their patience and cooperation throughout.
Officers are now appealing to anyone who witnessed the collision – or the moments prior to it – who has not yet given an account to officers, to come forward.
They’d also like to hear from anyone who has dash-cam, mobile phone or CCTV footage which may assist the investigation.
