Performance Emissions Ltd, a pioneering company based in Abercarn, Caerphilly, has announced the launch of a groundbreaking fuel conditioner designed to significantly reduce CO2 emissions from internal combustion engines while enhancing fuel efficiency. In collaboration with Caerphilly Borough County Council, the product aims to transform the environmental performance of the county’s vehicle Internal Combustible Engine fleet.
The innovative fuel conditioner, made from complex hydrocarbons, has been rigorously tested and proven to increase miles per gallon (MPG) by up to 47%. Regular use of this single, affordable product not only treats combustion engines but also stabilises fuel, cleans the entire fuel system, and maintains optimal performance. Remarkably, the product generates zero harmful emissions upon use, making it an environmentally friendly solution for fleets striving to reduce their carbon footprints.
Mike Rees and Jeffrey Preece, the founders of Performance Emissions Ltd, initiated the company following groundbreaking test results from Bristol University and the University of the West of England. The product has already demonstrated its efficacy in a pilot program involving five of CBCC’s heavy goods vehicle (HGV) refuse collection units. Remarkably, emissions readings revealed a significant reduction in CO2 output, with four of the vehicles achieving zero emissions within just four weeks of treatment.
Vernon Oak, CBCC’s Fleet Maintenance and Operations Manager, commented on the successful partnership, “Caerphilly County Borough Council are glad to be supporting a local business, Performance Emissions Ltd, on a very important journey in our drive for a greener footprint using a fuel additive within our Internal Combustible Engine vehicles. The introduction of a fuel additive product that cleans your fuel & AdBlue systems, assists the engine to operate more efficiently at lower temperatures, reducing further maintenance costs as well as a reduction in CO2 emissions whilst increasing fuel economy at first sounded too good to be true given what is already available out in the fleet market. Taking onboard the product possibilities alongside our journey to achieving our 2030 green fleet objectives, CCBC decided to support the local business in an early pilot scheme across several of our busy HGV fleet. The pilot indicated some great results with a positive indication of reductions in CO2 emissions with most achieving 0%, therefore we are glad to be extending our trials for six months across all our operational fleet.”
The collaboration between Performance Emissions Ltd and CBCC marks a significant step towards a sustainable future, aligning with both local and national goals for environmental stewardship. Through the continued testing and implementation of this innovative fuel conditioner, the partnership seeks to establish a model for other municipalities and organisations to follow.
Jeffrey Preece, Director of Performance Emissions said “We are thrilled to announce that Performance Emissions has been awarded the contract to help reduce emissions within Caerphilly Council’s current fleet. This collaboration marks a significant achievement for us, as it allows us to work closely with a council in our own borough. Vernon Oak’s recognition of our innovative product underscores the effectiveness and impact of our technology in promoting cleaner and more efficient motoring solutions. By implementing our products, the council is expected to achieve substantial savings in fuel costs, estimated at 10%, and reduce carbon-related repair costs significantly. These savings not only contribute to financial efficiency but also support the council’s commitment to environmental sustainability.”
“We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Sarah Gaze and Adam Sadler from the council for their invaluable support and dedication throughout this process. Their hard work and commitment have been instrumental in making this partnership a reality. Together, we are taking a crucial step towards a more sustainable and environmentally friendly future for our community.”
Adam Sadler, Principal Business Development Officer for CCBC, was delighted to be supporting such a new and dynamic local company, he added, “The business team strive to collaborate with our local businesses whenever possible and the Performance Emission’s trial results speak for themselves. As a council we aim to achieve our net zero targets and this collaboration with CCBC Fleet will help us achieve these goals. This project will make the county borough a safer and cleaner place for our businesses and residents to work and live.”
