A community fun day to celebrate the opening of the new Rhiwbina Wellbeing Hub will be held later this week.
To mark its official opening, there’ll be lots going on at the new wellbeing hub on Friday, March 24, from 2-5pm including arts and crafts, a circus and entertainment workshop, wood fired pizza, community stalls and more.
There will also be the chance to find out more about services available at the hub, which has undergone a major refurbishment and remodelling to enable the delivery of additional and enhanced services with a strong focus on health and wellbeing.
The hub opened its doors to the public in January and now boasts anew computer suite, new community multi use rooms, a bright and inviting children’s area, new library shelving and new toilets including an accessible WC with baby changing facilities. Outside, the rear garden area has been landscaped to provide an attractive space with a seating area.
Funding for the project has come from Welsh Government, Health and Social Care Integration and Rebalancing Care Fund, Shared Prosperity Funding and Cardiff Council.
Councillor Lynda Thorne, Cabinet Member for Housing & Communities, will officially open the new wellbeing hub at the community day.
Cllr Thorne said: “We’ve had some great feedback about the new wellbeing hub since the start of the year when it opened. The local community are already benefiting from the additional services and facilities now available.
“If anyone in the area haven’t visited yet, our community fun day is the perfect opportunity to come along. There’ll be lots going on.”
