Rhondda Cynon Taf Council is hosting a FREE Virtual Careers Fair, Wednesday September 22, 10am-5pm, following on from the huge success of the first RCT Virtual Careers Fair earlier this year.
Rhondda Cynon Taf Council is determined to increase employment opportunities for residents by connecting them with employers who are actively recruiting, as well as providing opportunities to improve CVs and build confidence for interviews.
Anyone who wishes to take part in the online event will need to register their details before the event at: rctcareersfair.vfairs.com
The first RCT Virtual Careers Fair was a huge success earlier this year – allowing people to attend and view the opportunities on offer, engage with employers, and take part in skills sessions, all from the comfort of their own homes.
The RCT Virtual Careers Fair on September 22 aims to build on the successes from earlier this year, helping bring people closer to employment opportunities in their local area, without the need to travel to a physical location to take part.
Further to this, even if you cannot take part on the day, as long as you register for the event before you can watch the event back on demand for 30 days.
The RCT Virtual Careers Fair provides a highly interactive, 3D environment with a number of companies who have open jobs and training opportunities.
The RCT Virtual Careers Fair will feature a number of pre-recorded webinars which will provide an insight and information on some of the organisations and the opportunities available, along with webinars to support you on how to successfully complete an application form and interview techniques.
Highlights the RCT Virtual Careers Fair has to offer:
- Explore employer information and opportunities to find your best career fit.
- Learn and interact with organisations about their available roles
- Gain a competitive advantage by learning more about the participating organisations from recruiters.
- View and apply for jobs from companies
- If selected by a recruiter, they may engage with you through one-on-one text and audio/video based conversations during the recruiter session.
There are a huge range of local and national employers already signed up for the event, such as EE, Army and Royal Navy, South Wales Fire & Rescue Service, Wilmott Dixon, Tata Steel, Principality, Transport for Wales, Office of National Statistics and many more, all of which are actively recruiting.
The event will be live for one day only on Wednesday September 22, 10am-5pm. However, the event will be available to view on demand for 30 days following the event until Friday 22 October 2021 at 23:59.
Councillor Maureen Webber, Deputy Leader of Rhondda Cynon Taf Council, said: “I’m really pleased that once again Rhondda Cynon Taf Council has innovated to deliver the RCT Virtual Careers Fair this September. This is the second time this year that the Council has used technology, which has been so vital in keeping us all connected, to deliver upon the Council’s obligations to our residents to increase employment opportunities
“Rhondda Cynon Taf Council is committed to attracting high-quality jobs to the local area and helping our residents into sustainable, reliable and well-paid employment, and the Virtual Careers Fair is one way in which we are working to accomplish this. By bringing employers to the local community, residents have the chance to interact with businesses, discover vocations they may not have considered, and potentially get themselves an interview!
“The last 18 months have been incredibly tough for people, so anything that can be done to help bring employment opportunities closer to them is much needed.
“The RCT Virtual Careers Fair can be accessed live on Wednesday September 22, 10am-5pm, but information and webinars will be available for 30 day after the event for people to watch again.
“If you are actively looking for employment, considering a career change, looking to start out, or thinking of returning to work, I would encourage you all to register and take part in the RCT Virtual Careers Fair.”
