Cardiff based video production company, Rockadove, will be working with Welsh charity Cerebra, who support families across the UK with children with brain conditions to create a video campaign. The charity is the winner of the inaugural Third Sector Prize, which is a partnership between Rockadove and WCVA.
The Carmarthen headquartered charity’s mission is to listen to families, including those children with brain conditions, which inspires their research and innovation.
Rockadove received more than fifty entries for the Third Sector Prize, with a judging panel which included WCVA choosing a top five shortlist, from which Cerebra were named as the winner. The shortlist included:
- The Good Wash Company
- Oasis Cardiff
- Disability Wales
- Stepping Stones North Wales
Lloyd Morgan, managing director at Rockadove said: “We are excited to be working with the team at Cerebra, as this year’s winner, and help them to create a video campaign that will really showcase the work they do to support such inspirational families.
“It was a tough process to choose the winner of this year’s Third Sector Prize as we had some incredible entries and there are so many stories we want to tell. Thank you to everyone who entered and to WCVA who gave us the platform to launch the prize.”
The Third Sector Prize will see Cerebra receive £10,000 worth of video production and campaign delivery. The Rockadove team will work with the charity to share the campaign across the best channels and promote the finished video.
Dr. Ross Head, who heads up the Cerebra Innovation Centre (CIC), added: “We were absolutely delighted to be named the winners and to be working with Rockadove on this project. We can’t wait for this opportunity to showcase the vital work that Cerebra does to help disabled children and their families.”
CIC is based at University of Wales Trinity Saint David (UWTSD) in Swansea, where CIC designs and builds innovative, bespoke products to help disabled children discover and engage with the world around them.
Cerebra was unveiled as the Third Sector Prize at this year’s Welsh Charity Awards organised by WCVA on Friday (15 November) at the National Museum of Wales, where Rockadove sponsored and presented the Young Volunteer of the Year category, which was won by Laura Ann Moulding from Time to Change Wales. Laura first volunteered for the mental health campaign Time to Change Wales in 2016, training as a community champion to deliver anti-stigma events.
Phil Fiander, Deputy Chief Executive of WCVA said: “We’re really pleased to be working with Rockadove to highlight just some of the amazing work of voluntary organisations and volunteers in Wales.
“Through the Third Sector Prize and the Welsh Charity Awards we’re showing people what’s possible and I hope hearing the stories of both Laura and Cerebra will inspire more people to get involved.”
