There’s never been a better time to enjoy and support local food and drink.
And there’s never been a better time to enjoy the delicious range of produce at Haverfordwest Farmers Market!
Held every Friday between 9am and 2pm at Castle Square, the market now hosts more than 20 stallholders selling fresh, local, seasonal produce from Pembrokeshire and its borders.
Produce includes seasonal vegetables and fruit, award-winning beef, pork and lamb, with organic choices, farm-fresh fish and poultry, sourdough and other home-made breads, farmhouses cheeses, home-made cakes and conserves and much more – as well as beautiful cut flowers, soft alpaca wool products and other craft.
Cllr Paul Miller, Cabinet Member for Economy, Tourism, Leisure and Culture, encouraged everyone to support the market.
“By shopping at our farmers’ markets, not only can you choose from a delicious range of produce, but you will also support local businesses, who have worked so hard – particularly over the last 18 months – and are a valued part of the Pembrokeshire economy,” said Cllr Miller.
Joe Welch, market manager and food officer at Pembrokeshire County Council, praised stallholders for enabling the market to continue during the lockdowns.
“Haverfordwest was among the few which managed to keep going, albeit on a smaller scale, which was really appreciated by its customers,” she said. “It also introduced a new ordering and collection system which has continued and proved to be very popular.”
She added: “We’re also pleased that lots of new customers have started using the market, and welcome many more!”
