There will be a road closure in Church Village this week in order to deliver improvement work as part of the Safe Routes in Communities scheme.
The scheme got underway earlier this year, using Welsh Government funding to upgrade pedestrian facilities on streets near Llanilltud Faerdref Primary School.
A road closure (April 2-5, 9am-5pm) is needed at the pictured location on St Illtyds Road (at the junction leading to the primary school) – scheduled during the school Easter holiday to minimise disruption.
Access to the car park will be provided by reopening the old access off St Illtyds Road. Access to all premises will also be maintained.
The closure will enable resurfacing work, and construction of a raised junction table.
An alternative route for motorists is via St Illtyds Road, Church Road and Main Road.
Access will be maintained for pedestrians and emergency services, while cyclists should dismount and take the pedestrian route.
Please note, a local shuttle bus will be in operation as Service 90 (Gwaunmiskin-Pontypridd) will be affected by the closure.
The service will run between Church Village Post Office, Cae Fardre, Tonteg Chemist and the Three Horseshoes – making 10 journeys per day in each direction.
Journeys from Church Village Post Office will depart at 8.46am, 9.19am, 10.16am, 10.49am, 12.16pm, 12.49pm, 1.46pm, 2.19pm, 3.21pm and 4.04pm.
Journeys from the Three Horseshoes will depart at 8.45am, 9.27am, 10.24am, 10.57am, 12.24pm, 12.57pm, 1.54pm, 2.27pm, 3.29pm and 4.12pm.
