The automatic video solution firm is ready to take the adventure market by storm in the UK – after partnering up with award-winning business Zip World, based in Llanrwst, deep in the Conwy valley.

The region’s status as the adventure capital of Europe has been confirmed after Revl chose to come to the foothills of Snowdonia, swapping San Francisco’s Golden Gate Bridge – for the three-arched bridge, Pont Mawr.

Revl co-founder and CEO Eric Sanchez and director of software Oliver Dain are making the sleepy town on the side of the River Conwy home – while they make an assault on the European market.

After becoming a videoing solution for vehicle powerhouse Audi and their driving experiences around the world, Zip World will be the first to experience Revl in Europe as customers benefit from the technology that will revolutionise outdoor adventure experiences.

Flying down zip wires and careering round Mountain and Coaster Kart tracks, videos and photos will be automated using artificial intelligence, hardware and software.

Having successfully dominated the US adventure market the advanced software automatically transfers, edits and uploads the customer experience allowing thrillseekers to relive their adventure as well as sharing with friends.

And whilst the new technology transforms Zip World – in the first collaboration of its kind in the UK – Revl will be looking to join forces with further European partners.

Having secured the sought-after investment Zip World is the envy of their adventure peers – but are so convinced by the complete video system they’ve also given Revl their financial backing to become shareholders.

Founded more than six years ago, Zip World has grown rapidly and today welcomes more than 400,000 visitors every year generating revenues of more than £16million.

The business runs adventure experiences across three scenic locations in the iconic Snowdonia mountain range offering multiple exhilarating experiences – with further investments in the pipeline.

Thrill seekers attending any of the Zip World sites will be able to choose from a range of Revl packages on arrival – with the intention of filming every aspect of their experience down the high speed zip lines, in the Slate Caverns, on the Fforest Coaster or zooming round the tracks of the Penrhyn Quarry Karts.

Cameras will be worn on the helmets of participants with the Revl system doing the job of five video editors combined – as well as providing multiple clips, edits, boomerangs and photos.

Eric Sanchez said: “We’re delighted to be basing ourselves in Llanrwst for the foreseeable future and are excited to embark on a European takeover in adventure experiences.

“We might be used to the dizzy heights of San Francisco – and the technological advances of Silicon Valley but we’re excited to be at the forefront of adventure sites in the UK.

“It’s hard not to fall in love with the scenic mountains, lakes and Conwy River – they have a charm of their own.

“We’ve left the Silicon Valley smog behind and the fresh Welsh mountain air has switched on our ambition and drive to further our European market.”

Sean Taylor, co-founder and President of Zip World added: “We’re flattered by this amazing partnership with Revl and delighted to make them welcome in our home of North Wales. Whilst we offer the most comprehensive outdoor adventure experiences in the UK we’re always looking for opportunities to increase customer experience.

“Visitors to our sites want to re-live their time with us – as well as showing off to their friends and family that they’re living their best lives!

“So the opportunity to film, record, edit and share quickly is paramount. The ease in which your video can be shared across social media is hugely important to our customers too, which is why we choose this tech.”
