The Range has officially opened its third store at Culverhouse Cross in Cardiff.

The Culverhouse Cross store was officially opened on Friday by the newly appointed Lord Mayor of the City of Cardiff, Dianne Rees.

This will make it store number three for the retailer in the city, who already operates sites at Cardiff’s Newport Road and Ty Las Road in Llanishen.

Earlier this year, it was announced that The Range would be taking over the lease from Homebase, following the demise of the retailer. Last month it was announced that Homebase was sold to the owner of HMV for a nominal £1.

The former Homebase store, which extends to more than 30,000 sq ft, is owned by Kent County Council’s pension fund. In a deal between the two retailers, Homebase has assigned its lease on the retail unit, which has a number of years yet to run, to The Range.

The new store will be open Monday – Friday from 8:30am until 8pm, with reduced Sunday hours.

The address of the new store: The Range. Patreane Way, Culverhouse Cross, Cardiff. CF5 4UG.
