The splash pad in Victoria Park will re-open on Friday May 28th with new measures in place to ensure that families can return safely.
In a change to previous years, a socially-distanced queueing system will be in place, and the number of children allowed to use the facility will be limited to a maximum of 50 at any one time.
During peak and busy times, twenty-five minute time slots will be in operation.
Cabinet Member for Culture and Leisure, Cllr Peter Bradbury, said: “The pandemic has been tough for all of us but particularly for children, let’s face it, they deserve some fun. Hopefully the news that the splash pad is re-opening will kick start a long summer full of smiles.”
The popular attraction, which features a range of jets and sprays as well as a tunnel and a tipping water bucket, was closed throughout last summer as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic.
The splash pad is open from 10am – 7pm at weekends, 12pm – 7pm on week days during term-time, and 10am – 7pm on week days during the school holidays.
The safety measures will be reviewed on an ongoing basis in the light of any potential changes to rules around Covid-19. Visitors are advised to check www.outdoorcardiff.com prior to visiting for the most up to date information.
