A couple from New Tredegar, who won a life-changing £1M EuroMillions Millionaire Maker prize just before the Covid-19 pandemic hit, have been looking back on their momentous National Lottery win and reminiscing about how they were doubly lucky on that fateful day.

Speaking ahead of this Friday’s special EuroMillions draw, which will mark the traditionally unlucky date of Friday 13^th by creating a lucky guaranteed 13 UK millionaires, Lynne and David Price have been recalling how their win coincided with truly amazing news for Lynne’s health.

Lynne said, “There was an awful lot going on the day we won (October 2019), as well as finding out we were millionaires I also had the all clear from my four year breast cancer check. It was really quite overwhelming and a day we will both never forget.

“That was just under a couple of years ago and I’m now approaching six years all clear this October, as well as the two year anniversary of our win.”

The couple, who had big plans to use some of their winnings to see the world, have been raring to go and, as soon as travel restrictions allow, will be heading off on a dream Caribbean cruise.

They have also put some of their winnings towards their daughter’s wedding and are planning a big celebration with family and friends.

David said, “Even though it has been a strange time since we won, we still can’t believe our luck. To be able to share our good fortune with our family has been such a privilege and with Lynne getting the all clear, we hope there are lots of good times to come.”
