Welsh gin brand, Cygnet, is celebrating with some ‘gin-credible’ news, as it confirms the listing of its premium gin on the drinks menu of the Marco Pierre White Steakhouse Bar & Grill restaurant brand.
Following a deal with Black and White Hospitality, which owns the franchise rights to eight of the famed chef’s restaurant concepts, the new drinks menu is set to roll out across all Steakhouse venues in the next two months.
Known for its philosophy of what Pierre White describes as ‘affordable glamour’, the Steakhouse menu will feature the South Wales distillery’s original Welsh dry gin and nestles right at home amongst some great ‘gin’ company including market leaders Beefeater, Chase Gin, Hendricks and Monkey 47.
Cygnet Distillery’s Master Distiller, Dai Wakely says of the new partnership:
“We’re over the moon and incredibly proud to have Cygnet on the drinks menu across all of the Marco Pierre White Steakhouse restaurants in the UK.
“It’s especially significant for us, as it’s also going to be featured of course, in the new Steakhouse Bar & Grill which is opening in Swansea later this year. So it’s very close to our hearts with the distillery being in Swansea and this being Cygnet’s ‘home town’.
“To have our gin not only featured but now permanently listed in a venue of this calibre is really something. The craft gin distillery ethos fits in with the Marco Pierre White brand perfectly so it’s really a match made in ‘gin’ heaven; we’re really excited for everyone to taste Cygnet across the UK and for our Welsh spirit be in the company of some truly great gin brands.”
Cygnet Gin, is distilled using twelve botanicals, blended, bottled and shipped from Swansea. The distillery creates the classic Welsh dry gin, as well as the new ‘Pinc’ gin made from real strawberries and raspberries. Cygnet Distillery also operates a successful white labelling business as well as currently producing mass volume of ‘World Health Organisation’ approved hand sanitiser to aid key workers and the front line companies during the current COVID-19 pandemic.
With every single bottle of Cygnet Gin being hand signed, dated, bottle numbered and batch numbered, the ‘stand out’ ceramic bottles feature the Welsh flag on the neck paying homage to its homeland.
On the back of securing this menu agreement with the Marco Pierre White brand, it has opened the door for Cygnet to now have a listing with national and prestigious wholesaler Matthew Clark. Something that will now escalate Cygnet to a wider audience and help to elevate the Welsh brand further throughout the entire UK.
Nick Taplin, Chairman and CEO of Black & White Hospitality added: “Gin has had something of a renaissance in recent years, giving rise to some fantastic new brands. And as we grow as a business, we’re always on the lookout for new products.
“Dai’s passion for gin as well as this new brand is clear to see, and we’re delighted to stock Cygnet across the Steakhouse estate. We’ll now look forward to pushing this exciting new brand not only in the new Swansea site but in all other Steakhouses.”
